The drill rig is loaded with intelligent features that will improve the customer’s operation, increase safety and boost productivity. This efficient drill rig consistently delivers high-quality blast holes with accuracy and precision. It is loaded with smart features such as automated drilling and rod handling.
Additionally, a BE-demonstrator was presented during 2024 – our first ever Down-The-Hole SmartROC D65 battery-electric drill rig, which plays an important role in the shift towards a green transition and zero emission drilling in surface mines.

The Diamec Smart series of underground core drilling rigs is equipped with an advanced Rig Control System, which enables automatic drilling from a safe distance. From the touch screen on the remote control panel, drilling parameters are easily set and monitored. The Diamec Smart series can be equipped with a state-of-the-art rod handling system that relieves the operator and eliminates many of the hazardous operations in the drilling process. Epiroc’s Boomer face drill rigs are used for blast hole drilling in underground mining and tunneling. The rigs are equipped with up to four booms, covering cross sections from 6 m² to 206 m². A variety of automation features are available, such as the Rig Control System which enables tele-remote operation with a control panel that monitors local sensors and cameras.
